Might greet the New Year!

Happy 2024! My 11 year old (George) and I have been making the joke “I’ve hardly seen you this year!” on repeat.

How are you holding up? I have loved reading “school break ends on January X here, so we’ve been filling the days by doing X, X, and X…” so here is my contribution: school resumes Tuesday, January 9th here, so we’ve filled the time by seeing The Boys in the Boat, eating tacos, and playing the (very simple, very fast) board game High Risk (plus oodles of screen time). The Boys in the Boat is over 2 hours long, kind of cheesy, and somehow rated PG-13 (why? There is nary an F-word or bare breast in sight), but I loved all of the lush rowing scenes. There are some good speeches by the coach, helpful since my 2024 coaching season starts on Monday! Even though I vowed never to coach futsal again, here we are. And here is the second/final part of my coaching journey. (It’s so long that it will cut off in the email, so you may have to read it on the website).
